Body of man found in water in search for missing hillwalker in highlands

that a body was discovered in water at the Kinloch Hourn area at around 12:55pm this afternoon, Monday, June 2. Formal identification has yet to take place but Bernard's family has been

informed. He was reported missing after he had set off on the Cape Wrath Trail, which is regarded as the toughest distance walk in the UK. Article continues below His last known contact

with others was on Tuesday, May 27, at the Corryhully Bothy in Glenfinnan. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.55pm on Monday, 2 June, 2025, the body of a man was found in

the water in the Kinloch Hourn area. "Formal identification has yet to take place, however, the family of Bernard Trottet, who was reported missing in the area, has been informed.
