Armed cops storm scots flat with negotiators at scene as man arrested

flat in a pre planned operation. Specialist cops rushed a property at Shields Drive in Motherwell on Monday May 19 at around 5.30pm but had to call in negotiators after a man inside the

home barricaded himself in. It is understood the operation continued on until the early hours of Tuesday May 20 with residents told to stay in their homes. Images from the scene posted on

social media showed several police cars parked outside the block of high rise flats. Armed cops could also be seen guarding the entrance. A 41-year-old man has now been arrested in

within the flat barricaded himself within the property. Negotiators and firearms officers attended to assist and the 41-year-old man was later arrested in connection. “No one was injured
