Pupils and staff at motherwell school hold goodbye party ahead of wishaw move

AFTER THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS, BOTHWELLPARK HIGH SCHOOL WILL MOVE TO A NEW HOME IN THE COLTNESS AREA. ROSS THOMSON 20:20, 03 Jun 2025 Pupils and staff at Bothwellpark High School in Motherwell

held a special goodbye party to mark the end of an era. The event was hosted by Clyde 1 radio presenter Garry Spence and DJ Kainan Milligan. After the summer holidays, the school will move

to a new home in Wishaw, in the Coltness area. The new school will have better equipment, improved learning spaces, and outdoor learning areas. It will also have improved access for

consultation with parents and carers, the school will also get a new name: Woodlands Park High School. Article continues below Head Teacher Michael McGinley said: “Today is a big moment for

us as we say goodbye to our much-loved school. Even though the building is closing, the spirit of our school will live on. “I want to thank everyone who’s been part of our journey. We’re

excited for the future and ready to keep supporting and inspiring our pupils.” Provost Kenneth Duffy also shared his best wishes. He added: “I’d like to wish all the pupils and staff the

very best as they move into their new school. This is an exciting new chapter, and I’m confident the new facilities will help everyone thrive and continue to go from strength to strength.”
