KATE MIDDLETON AND KING CHARLES WILL BOTH MAKE AN APPEARANCE AT THE ANNUAL COMMONWEALTH DAY SERVICE AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY ON MONDAY AFTER THEIR CANCER BATTLES STOPPED THEM FROM ATTENDING LAST

YEAR. 15:13, 06 Mar 2025 The Princess of Wales is set to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at one of the most significant events in the royal calendar next week. It's been confirmed

that Kate Middleton, along with her husband Prince William, will be attending the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday. Both Kate and the King were absent from last

year's major service due to their respective cancer diagnoses. However, the princess has since announced her remission and is gradually resuming her public duties. Kate was diagnosed

with cancer following abdominal surgery early last year and disclosed in late March that she was undergoing chemotherapy. She has undertaken several engagements this year as part of her

gradual return to public life, including a visit to Pontypridd ahead of St David's Day last week. This event marks the largest royal gathering since Christmas Day. William, Kate,

Charles, and Camilla will be joined at the service by Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, according to Buckingham Palace. The theme for this year's Commonwealth Day is

"Together We Thrive", celebrating the "enduring spirit of the Commonwealth family". Charles, as Head of the Commonwealth, delivers an annual address to the family of 56

nations. However, last year he pre-recorded a video message after postponing his public-facing duties for around three months. In a heartfelt video message last year, he expressed his

gratitude, saying: "In recent weeks, I have been most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health and, in return, can only continue to serve you, to

the best of my ability, throughout the Commonwealth." He continued with conviction: "My belief in our shared endeavours and in the potential of our people remains as sure and

strong as it has ever been. I have no doubt that we will continue to support one another across the Commonwealth as, together, we continue this vital journey." Following Monday's

service, the King and Queen Consort are set to attend the annual Commonwealth Day Reception at Marlborough House, hosted by the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Baroness Scotland. JOIN THE

Andrew Lloyd Webber, commemorating the first-ever Commonwealth Peace Prize. Earlier in the day, the King is also scheduled to launch the Commonwealth Sport King's Baton Relay at

Buckingham Palace, setting the stage for the Glasgow 2026 Games. The Games faced challenges when Victoria, Australia, withdrew as hosts due to escalating costs. Australia has had the honour

of hosting the Commonwealth Games five times, including in 2018 on the Gold Coast and in Melbourne in 2006. Now, Glasgow is preparing to welcome the Games next summer after stepping in to

fill the void left by Victoria.
