A rogue Warwick builder defrauded a Leamington resident by lying about spending £10,000 on materials for a job. Jonathan Rhys Lomas pleaded guilty to fraud at Coventry Crown Court on
Wednesday, May 7. Lomas, 49, admitted to defrauding people through his business JD Lomas and Sons between March 30 and June 6, 2023. He falsely claimed that an application to building
control for a garage conversion had been submitted and took payment for a job when there was no prospect of it being completed. Investigators at Trading Standards found that Lomas had also
given the false impression that he could carry out building and electrical work despite not being qualified. He also said that he would return to complete jobs, but never did. READ MORE:
