Brits can look forward to a spell of sunny weather in a fortnight, with temperatures soaring up to 26C. The Met Office defines a UK heatwave as at least three consecutive days with daily

maxima at or above the heatwave temperature threshold, which varies by county. The southeast is gearing up for a 'mini heatwave' on June 13, with forecasts pinpointing Kent as the

hottest spot at 26C. Cities like Brighton, Reading, Luton, Norwich, and Colchester are expected to bask in 24C to 25C. Meanwhile, Cambridge, Northampton, Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham,

Nottingham, Leeds, and York will enjoy 21C to 23C. Elsewhere, Cardiff, Conwy, Plymouth, Liverpool, Carlisle, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Inverness, and Aberdeen will experience cooler temperatures

between 15C and 20C. Even chillier will be west Scotland, including Fort William, Skye, Oban, with highs just touching 12C to 14C. Likewise, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North

Pennines may dip to 14C, reports the Express. For this period, the Met Office anticipates "Changeable weather across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the

west interspersed with dry and sunny periods. "The wettest conditions are likely to be in the northwest, with the driest weather in the south and southeast. Temperatures are most

likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times, especially across the south." TONIGHT: Persistent low cloud and drizzle will continue over many

western hills overnight, before more consistent rain returns to the north and west, accompanied by strengthening winds later. Clear spells elsewhere. FRIDAY: Rain clearing eastwards across

northern areas, Cloudy across central areas, with sunny spells and showers across the south. Temperatures near normal overall, but feeling warm in the southeast. OUTLOOK FOR SATURDAY TO

MONDAY: Further showery rain this weekend, mainly in the north. Some very warm sunshine at first further south. Feeling warm, especially on Saturday, cooler from Sunday, and often breezy.
