Coventry pub closed since january to reopen today

A Coventry pub will open its doors to customers for the first time since January. The Aardvark shut suddenly earlier in the year, and up until recently, boards have been up at the windows.

But new management has been put in place, and The Butts pub will open at 1pm this afternoon (30 May). A new Facebook page bearing the pub's name popped on the social network site

earlier this month. An early post shared by the page read: "Good things come to those who wait. Opening under new management. We can not wait to meet you all." READ MORE: POPULAR

ATTRACTION CLOSED AS POLICE SEARCH FOR MAN WHO FELL INTO WATER Bosses had initially planned to open doors on Wednesday (28 May) but have had to delay due to a delivery issue. They apologised

to customers, saying: "We can not wait till our doors are open again and greeting the new and old." News of the pub's reopening will be met warmly by local drinkers,

particularly in light of the nearby Old Dyers Arms also re-emerging in recent days. It's good news for an area that has struggled with the impact work from regeneration of Spon End.

Pubs such as the Black Horse and The Hamptons, also known as the Butts Retreat, have all closed in recent years, the former being demolished, the latter looking set to follow a similar path.
