Godiva Festival is set to bring back the photography competition for a lucky person to join the festival's official photographer at War Memorial Park this year. Three amateur
photographers will get to join photographer Dave Archer on Saturday, July 5, capturing performances at this year's event. Out of the three winners, Dave will pick one overall winner.
The winners are set to gain 'invaluable experience' working with Dave, who has captured high-profile events from Formula 1 to Glastonbury. They will be mentored in slots throughout
the day and be taught how to take live event images. The opportunity also includes two weekend tickets for each winner to enjoy for the rest of Godiva Festival. READ MORE: COVENTRY HAIR
SALON CEASES TRADING AFTER 'LEASE NOT RENEWED' Deputy Leader of Coventry City Council, Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, said: "Last year was so successful that we are opening the
competition up to three winners this year. They will each get to work with us on the Saturday and see the behind-the-scenes life and what it takes to get the shots that we go on to use when
showcasing our festival. "We love giving back to the city of Coventry, and this is just one of many ways in which we're doing this. I really look forward to seeing the entry
photographs and saying hello to our winner at the event. I'd like to wish all those who enter good luck." Photographer Dave Archer added: "This is a fantastic opportunity to
enhance your real-life skills of creating images in the moment, in camera, to a brief, coupled with great access. It's really important as photographers to make the most of
opportunities and time to get the best images." To enter the competition, aspiring photographers must complete the entry form and are asked to submit their best image from a choice of
three categories: portraits, music, and action. Participants must be from Coventry or Warwickshire, be over 18, have access to a professional camera, and have their own transport to travel
to and from the event. The competition closes on Friday, June 13 at 10am. To complete the entry form, click here. GET DAILY HEADLINES AND BREAKING NEWS EMAILED TO YOU - IT’S FREE
