A Coventry pub which closed recently will reopen under new management after a "significant refurbishment". Bosses from Admiral Taverns, the company that owns the Hastings Tavern on Clay

Lane, have released a statement reassuring locals the pub is there for the long haul.

The family that ran the pub previously made an emotional farewell after years at the helm, thanking followers on social media for all the support offered by regulars. We can now reveal

drinks will flow at the 100-year-old boozer once more, with Proper Pubs, a branch of the Admiral Taverns tree, looking for a new landlord to take over.

A spokesman for Admiral Taverns, said: "We can confirm The Hastings Tavern in Coventry is currently closed whilst it undergoes a significant refurbishment to ensure the pub can sit at the

heart of the community for years to come.

"The pub will be reopening in due course under Admiral Tavern’s award-winning operator division, Proper Pubs, and we will update on our plans in due course.

"We are currently recruiting for a passionate operator to take over so for anyone interested, please get in touch on 01244 321171."
