TAX REIMBURSEMENTS WILL BE SENT TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT BETWEEN JULY 24 AND AUGUST 2 After filing their French tax returns earlier this year, some people will be eligible for a refund. The tax
authorities announced that for those receiving these, the money will arrive directly in their bank accounts between July 24 and August 2. It will be paid directly by the _Direction générale
des Finances publiques_ (DGFiP). The authorities have urged people, however, to check that the bank account details known to the tax authorities are correct. If details need to be changed,
you only have until Monday (July 3) to make the changes and still receive your refund by August 2. Those who do not update their bank details by this time and have the wrong information
recorded will receive the refund via cheque later in the year. The same rules apply to people who have to pay additional tax – they should check bank information is correct in order to have
their payments taken without any problems. HOW DO I CHECK THE INFORMATION? To ensure the DGFiP holds your up-to-date bank account information, you can log onto your personal space on the
French tax site (IMPOTS.GOUV.FR) to check. After logging in, click on the _Prélèvement à la source _button and then _Mettre à jour vos coordonnées bancaires_. If the information held is
correct, you do not need to change anything. If you do need to update the information, however, the change will only be validated after clicking a link sent to you via text from the
authorities. This means you should also make sure your contact information is up to date, as well. It is also possible to call tax authorities on 0809 401 401 to update this (only if you are
in France, however). THE SAME APPLIES TO THOSE PAYING EXTRA TAX This also applies to those who will have to pay extra tax, as the money will be taken out of the bank account directly. Those
with less than €300 extra tax to pay will see the money taken out in one instalment on September 25. For those who have to pay more than €300, it will be spread into four payments, deducted
on September 25, October 26, November 27, and December 27. RELATED ARTICLES SEVEN TAX CONSIDERATIONS TO CHECK WHEN MOVING TO FRANCE PERMANENTLY STAFF IN TEARS AS FRENCH TAX OFFICES GRAPPLE
