How to see the sale price of property in france near you

A GOVERNMENT ONLINE TOOL INCLUDES DATA FROM THE LAST FIVE YEARS Did you know that people in France can find the recent realised sale price of a property or plot of land near them using data

from the past five years via a free official online tool? The ‘Demande de valeurs foncières (DVF)’ tool on the government website can help you find property data over the past five years

(see the screenshot of the tool below). Access to the database is free, and enables private individuals to track property price trends, and estimate the value of a property by seeing what

other similar ones nearby sold for in recent years.  The database is updated every six months, in April and October. Results include an interactive map, with details such as the sale price

and transaction date of flats and houses or non-built on land and farms. It also includes a description of the property, the number of rooms, surface area, and the median sale price per m2

nationally, by region and by town. The price is shown by colour, with the lowest price in green, and the highest in red. HOW TO SEARCH THE MAP TOOL You can search in one of several ways: *

The search bar: enter an address directly in the search bar at the top right. * Filter by property type (flats and houses, and commercial premises). * Use the interactive map to click on a

department, then on a commune, then on a cadastral section. Plots of land affected by at least one property change are shown in blue. You can click on them to see a list of relevant property

transactions. You can also download the database’s raw data from the government’s data website here. Currently, the tool works for all of France (where enough data exists), except Bas-Rhin,

Haut-Rhin, Moselle, and Mayotte.
