PRICES ARE FIXED WITH ALL VEHICLES ABLE TO CARRY SNOWSPORT EQUIPMENT Holidaymakers heading to the Alpine slopes can use a seasonal Uber feature to book specialised travel directly to their

chalet from nearby train stations and airports.  The ‘Uber Ski’ function is available in seven European countries including France, picking up passengers from train stations and airports

located close to major ski resorts.  First launched in winter 2019, the seasonal feature is back after a two-year hiatus. The ‘Uber Ski’ vehicles can carry equipment including skis and

snowboards, something a standard vehicle hired on the ride-share app may not be able to do.  Prices are fixed and begin from €49 one-way. They can be booked for groups of between two and

five passengers – with travel slots available between just 30 minutes to 60 days in advance of the desired travel time using the Uber app.  The service will run until March 30 this year,

with around 200 drivers working in the Alps. It will run to certain stations in the Savoie and Isère departments. “Uber Ski offers a practical alternative to long car journeys, enabling

holidaymakers to travel by public transport, particularly by train, and then reach their resorts with complete peace of mind,” said General Manager of Uber Belgium, Laurent Slits.  Read

over half a million international tourists in Europe attempted to book an Uber during a mountain holiday.  In some resorts demands more than doubled compared to 2023. The majority of

visitors using the service were British, American or German. The service will run to the following French ski stations:  Méribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens, les Arcs, Tignes, Val d’Isère,

l’Alpe d’Huez and les Deux Alpes Drivers will pick holidaymakers up from these destinations:  Chambéry (Savoie) and Grenoble (Isère) airports, as well as Grenoble, Chambéry, Moûtiers and

Bourg-Saint-Maurice train stations. Read more: New carsharing lane to come into service on Paris ring road
