public comments when she accepts an honorary César later this month - weeks after she labelled her fellow Parisians “rude”. The 29-year-old actress, who is engaged to French journalist

Romain Duriac, will receive an honorary award in recognition for her contribution to cinema at the star-studded ceremony at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on February 28. She may receive a

frosty reception, however. Last month, she told US chat show host David Letterman that Parisians’ reputation for a being impolite is well-deserved. She said: “When I first got there, I

thought people were not that whole kind of rude Parisian thing. You know - people aren't rude, they are wonderful. “Well, that was before I was a mainstay there - then people decided

that once I wasn't going away they could just be really, terribly, rude to me." Johansson first came to the cinema-world’s attention as a 14-year-old in Robert Redford’s The Horse

Whisperer, and has made more than 30 films in a career spanning 15 years. She has worked with the likes of the Coen brothers, Brian de Palma and Christopher Nolan and has made three films

with Woody Allen - Match Point, Scoop and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. But the notoriously private star’s romantic life has been a constant source of interest and speculation for the media.

Before becoming engaged to Mr Duriac, who she met through a tattoo artist, she dated Ryan Reynolds, Josh Hartnett, Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto and Benicio Del Toro. However, she refuses to

comment on speculation about her personal life; as she said in a 2008 interview: “It's nice to have everybody not know your business.” She also made the headlines for all the wrong

reasons recently. She relinquished her role as an ambassador for British charity Oxfam after it said it was incompatible with her appearance in an advert for SodaStream, an Israeli company
