Part of paris-normandy motorway closed to traffic due to road defects

NO REOPENING DATE HAS YET BEEN CONFIRMED, THE ROAD AUTHORITY SAYS, AS IT OFFERS DRIVERS ALTERNATIVE ROUTES A part of a major motorway that links Paris and Normandy has been ‘closed

indefinitely’ in both directions due to infrastructure and road defects, the managing company has confirmed. The A13 motorway - which links Paris to Rouen and Caen - is now closed in both

directions between Vaucresson and Saint-Cloud; a stretch of around 5 km. This includes the Saint-Cloud tunnel.  It is not yet clear how long it will be closed, said Dirif (Direction des

routes Ile-de-France) the Ile-de-France road authority, on its traffic information website Sytadin. It comes ahead of the last weekend of the Easter holidays for schools in Zone C (including

Paris, Créteil, Versailles, Montpellier and Toulouse). Dirif said that the closure is of “indeterminate duration”, and has been caused by "infrastructure problems on the

carriageway", detected between the viaduct and the Saint-Cloud tunnel. “We must analyse this problem to determine the work to be carried out, and then estimate the duration [of the

closure required],” it said. In the meantime, the authority advises routes for drivers to bypass the road:  * To reach Paris from Rocquencourt: Take the A12 and N12 towards Versailles, then

towards Paris via Porte de Saint-Cloud (N118). * To reach Paris from Bois d'Arcy: Take the N12 towards Versailles, then towards Paris via Porte de Saint-Cloud (N118).
