YOUR LOCATION COULD MAKE MORE OF A DIFFERENCE THAN YOU THINK Your chances of passing your driving test in France vary considerably depending on your region and department, show new figures
from an online driving school, and national statistics. A ranking of the most likely (and least likely) departments to pass your driving test (the ordinary car B licence) was published this
week, after a study by online driving school En voiture Simone, in partnership with Capital. When combined with statistics from the Ministry of Interior, a more accurate picture of
variations between regions and departments is revealed, shows Ouest France. WHICH DEPARTMENTS HAVE THE HIGHEST SUCCESS RATES? When combined with the ranking and the Interior Ministry
figures, Lozère (Occitanie) comes out with the highest exam pass rate, at 72.5%. Rounding out the rest of the top 10 are: WHICH DEPARTMENTS HAVE THE LOWEST SUCCESS RATES? Val-de-Marne has
the lowest success rate at just 43.1%. Cantal (48%), Essonne (48.6%) and Yvelines (49%) also languish at the bottom of the results table. The rest of the bottom 10 are: ACCOMPANIED DRIVING
LESSONS GET BETTER RESULTS The results also show that candidates who take accompanied driving lessons (AAC) do better in their tests than those who choose to learn alone. In all
departments, the success rate for candidates who took the AAC is much higher than the overall rate. For example: * In Lozère, 88% of En voiture Simone’s 575 AAC candidates passed their
test, compared with 72.5% of all 1,635 candidates in total. * In Sarthe, the rate was 78.5% compared with 57.7% * In Charente, the rate was 86.2% compared with 67.9%. * In Cantal, the rate
was 62.5% compared with 48%.
