STORM WARNINGS ARE SWEEPING THE COUNTRY Heatwave warnings have been lifted in the west and north of France, as temperatures have returned to seasonal averages quicker than expected. In the
east, where temperatures are set to remain high, heatwave alerts are still in place, but at a lower level. In the Rhône Valley and south-east, however, heightened warnings remain in place,
with highs of up to 37C in the shade expected. The brief but intense heat in the north of France yesterday has also vanished, with some coastal areas, particularly in Normandy and Brittany,
seeing maximum temperatures drop to 25C or less. The departments still facing heightened heatwave warnings are: Rhône, Ain, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère, Drôme, Alpes-Maritimes
Corse-du-Sud, and Haute-Corse. Tomorrow (August 14) will see the heightened warnings lifted in all departments but the final three. STORMS BEGIN TO HIT FRANCE Forecasted to hit France
midweek, powerful storms have begun to make their way across the country this morning. Starting in the south-west, they will sweep across almost the entire country. Only a handful of
departments in the Brittany, Hauts-de-France, and Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur regions are free of any storm alerts. Some areas, particularly central France, are set to see hailstorms
alongside heavy rain. In central France, the Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Haute-Loire, Cantal, Aveyron and Tarn departments are on a heightened orange alert for stormy weather However, these
intense storm warnings are currently set to dissipate by tomorrow. You can keep up to date with all weather warnings via the official Météo France website. Read more: Storms in France: what
