HEAT RECORDS WILL NOT BE BROKEN BUT ALL OF FRANCE WILL EXPERIENCE SUMMER-LIKE TEMPERATURES A spate of ‘summer’ weather is predicted for this weekend as the entirety of France sees
temperatures climb once more. Whilst not reaching the heights of the beginning of the month – where hundreds of records were broken INCLUDING OCTOBER’S ABSOLUTE HEAT RECORD – temperatures
over the weekend are expected to hit 30C in the south-west. In Toulouse and Tarbes, temperatures could reach 32C on Saturday afternoon. Elsewhere, most of France will see the mercury hit 23C
or higher at least once over the course of the next two days. Most areas aside from the coastal north and Alps will see 25C or more. SUNNY SKIES FOR ALMOST EVERYONE Not a drop of rain is
forecast to fall over the weekend and aside from some clouds in the north on Sunday afternoon, skies will be clear. The warm weather will stretch into the beginning of next week, possibly
lasting until Thursday when rain will sweep in from the north-west and cover much of France. Even when the rain comes, however, temperatures are likely to remain above 20C almost everywhere,
and the expected ‘final drop’ towards more autumnal weather may not come until after next weekend (October 14 and 15). The extension of the warm weather into autumn means it could become
the hottest October ever recorded in France – last month was also the hottest September on record, due in part to a LATE HEATWAVE IN THE NORTH. RELATED ARTICLES: ‘FACE THE REALITY’: FRANCE
