Global celebration of goût de france

MORE THAN 1,300 CHEFS IN 150 COUNTRIES ON FIVE CONTINENTS WILL UNITE FOR ONE DAY NEXT MONTH TO CELEBRATE FRENCH CUISINE MORE THAN 1,300 chefs working in 150 countries across all five

continents will unite to simultaneously celebrate French cuisine on one special day next month. The Goût de France / Good France event on Thursday, March 19, will see chefs all over the

world offer a full French-style menu – a traditional apéritif, a cold starter, a hot starter, fish or shellfish, meat or poultry, a cheese course, a chocolate dessert, and a selection of

French wines or digestifs. In addition to the participating restaurants, French embassies will also be taking part in the event, organising dinners at the Ambassadors’ residences. The idea

is the brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse and will be the first global celebration of French cuisine’s inclusion in the list of UNESCO’S Intangible Cultural Heritage of

Humanity in 2010. Mr Ducasse and a committee of 40 renowned chefs approved all the menus offered at every restaurant from Sao Paulo to Casablanca, and from Tokyo to Geneva. “This will be a

perfect demonstration the Gastronomic Meal of the French listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage,” said foreign minister Laurent Fabius. To find a restaurant near you taking part in
