MORE STORMS ARE FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH-EAST TODAY Departments in central France remain on heightened alert for flash flooding and heavy rain today (September 5) after violent storms hit many
areas of the country last night. Tier-three orange warnings – the second highest possible – remain in place in Yonne, Nièvre, Allier, Saône-et-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, and Haute-Loire.
Elsewhere, tier-two yellow warnings remain in place for stormy weather across all of eastern France. In the south-west, there are tier-two warnings for river flooding following the severe

advised with different Météo France weather warnings RAIN TO PUSH PAST PARIS, SECOND BOUT OF STORMS IN SOUTH-EAST Heightened warnings will remain in place until early afternoon, when they
will drop in severity and become tier-two alerts. The passage of heavy rain will move up from central France towards Paris, up to Normandy and into the English Channel. Along its path, up
to 50 mm of rain may fall, equalling around one month of average September rainfall for some areas. Locally, between 80 mm and 100 mm of rain is forecast, in the areas currently facing
heightened warnings. Rain will continue overnight in parts of coastal Normandy, but will stop earlier in the evening around Paris. In the south-east, storms are forecast to hit the Paca
region (Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur) again, after a violent episode last night. In Mandelieu-La-Napoule (Alpes-Maritimes), 145 mm of rain fell in the last 24 hours. More rain is expected in
the region, and up to 10 mm per hour may fall today as more storms hit. You can see photos of last night's storms in the area in our article below. Read more: PHOTOS: Dramatic scenes
as violent storms hit southern France Elsewhere in the south, Mistral winds are forecast to reach above 80 km/h in coastal areas, especially around Perpignan. Due to the unstable weather,
it is possible that state forecaster Météo France will update the intensity of warnings throughout the day. You can find the current warnings on its official website.
