Extra flights organised from corsica for travellers stuck due to bad weather

France issued an orange weather alert for strong winds in Corsica following a storm which formed on the coast of Italy. It meant airlines and ferry lines were forced to cancel their

services.  The alert has been lifted as of today Monday, December 23 and travel to the island restarted. Air Corsica has announced that there will be three extra flights from Corsica today

Marseille, Ajaccio to Nice and Bastia to Nice have been added to the usual flight routes. Flights from Nice to Corsica have already departed safely this morning.  Air Corsica stated: “For

safety reasons, when the wind picked up (yesterday), we had to cancel (services) even though our crews are very experienced. We had already experienced very difficult weather conditions on

Friday but in the end we managed to complete all the changes. On Sunday the winds were much more violent.” Ferry companies Corsica Ferries and Corsica Linea announced that their routes will

resume today.
