CASH REWARDS AND PARIS 2024 TICKETS ARE AMONG THE PRIZES UP FOR GRABS THIS WINTER The French electricity suppliers Engie and EDF are to reward clients who save energy this winter, this
includes tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The scheme is part of the suppliers’ aims to reward ‘energy sobriety’. ENGIE TO OFFER UP TO €40 To benefit, Engie clients can
sign up to the ‘_écodéfi_ +’ service, which is free. This enables them to earn up to €4 per day if they are careful with their electricity usage on ‘high tension’ days, when demand on the
network is high. Clients will be challenged with keeping their consumption below a personalised usage threshold for a day, between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00. The threshold will be
announced the day before. There will be at least 10 challenges between October 15, 2023 and April 15, 2024. This means that registered customers will have the chance to win up to €40. The
company has already run a successful scheme to reduce energy use; customers who signed up to the ‘My Engie Bonus’ plan last year saved on average 8% more energy than those who were not
signed up. EDF TO OFFER PARIS 2024 TICKETS EDF is set to launch its ‘_Défis Utiles_’ plan on November 1, which will run until February 28, 2024. It will offer customers: * A MARATHON
CHALLENGE: Customers will be have to reduce their electricity consumption by 10% compared with last winter * THREE SPRINT CHALLENGES (ONE PER MONTH): Specific energy savings target (10, 20
or 25%) over one, two, or five days. For each challenge won, participants will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. There
will also be other sports-related prizes. To take part, customers need to register on the EDF & Moi app before October 31, 2023. They will then be notified of when the challenges are
launched by e-mail and push notification to their devices. The challenges are reserved for the first 500,000 people to sign up. Participants must also have an active electricity supply
contract with EDF through a current offer or the Tarif Bleu plan, and have a Linky meter. ENERGY USE The challenges come as the government has been asking individuals and companies to reduce
their consumption of resources for months, including electricity but also fuel. Overall, it is aiming to maintain a 10% reduction in electricity usage by 2024. Overall, energy consumption
in France has been 12% lower between August 2022 and now, compared to the 2018-2019 equivalent. Last year, TotalEnergies also announced a similar plan, with customers eligible for up to €120
in reward payments if they helped to cut electricity use - especially on high-demand days, to reduce network tension. RELATED ARTICLES TENS OF THOUSANDS IN FRANCE SIGN UP TO EDF ENERGY
