140,000 peugeot cars recalled in france over brake issue

Peugeot mechanic workshop to be fixed. The problem is not with the vehicle hardware, but with the software. This means that the repair requires a software update to “improve the reliability

of the braking system” to “avoid any risk of reduction or loss of braking assistance”, it said. The change will be paid for by Peugeot, and not by the car owner. Peugeot also stated:

“Peugeot will also take advantage of the time the cars spend in the workshop to check the brake assist system, which could be damaged by the cam belt.” The new issue comes after Peugeot

issued a recall for 40,000 of its hybrid models for a different issue - a potential corrosion problem - a few weeks ago. This affected the 3008 hybrids manufactured between March 12, 2019

and December 12, 2022; and the 508 hybrids produced between July 10, 2019 and January 25, 2023. Peugeot cars were also among others - including Citroën and Opel - to be recalled over high

emissions in France in early December. More generally, many of the smaller Peugeot electric models are also among those set to be included in the recently-launched €100-per-month electric
