THE BAR IS THE CREATION OF A FOOTBALL-LOVING BUSINESSMAN WHO IS EXPANDING HIS FOOTBALL KIT SHOWROOM FOR WEEKEND BEERS, TABLE FOOTBALL AND OLD MATCHES ON VCR 15:56, 20 May 2025 A Birmingham

businessman that makes football kits and trophies for teams is expanding his company showroom to open a vintage clubhouse bar. Footy fan Jamie Marler is opening Clubhouse on the Waterside

Business Park, just off the busy Pershore Road between Stirchley and Cotteridge, an offshoot of his business Moving Forward Sports. Clubhouse will have free-to-play arcade machines as well

as a basketball hoop, which Jamie hopes will get groups of friends off their phones and engaging with one another in his chilled-out space. READ MORE: OPEN DATE REVEALED FOR NEW BIRMINGHAM

BRUNCH SPOT WITH ONE 'OLD SCHOOL' THING ON THE MENU SUBSCRIBE TO THE BRUM FOOD CLUB FOR A WEEKLY FOOD AND DRINK NEWSLETTER, IN YOUR INBOX, EVERY THURSDAY. IT'S FREE. The bar

will serve beer and cider from Jeremy Clarkson's Hawkstone Brewery as well as drinks from Uiltje Brewery and its own 'Dugout' lager, a 3.4% beer on tap. Jamie opened Moving

Forward Sports 12 years ago, going it alone after working for sports team kit businesses. He told BirminghamLive: "I was over at Bromsgrove Sporting Football Club and I asked the

chairman what he was doing with the old club shop, so I asked if I could have it in exchange for offering their stuff at cost. That's how it started. "I moved to Bartley Green and

to Northfield before deciding that we needed to go even bigger, so I moved to Stirchley six months ago. "I'd always had the idea that alongside the custom-made and designed kits,

made in England, it'd be nice to have a space, a bar or a cafe, where things are a bit more relaxed than a showroom. "This place allowed us to fit out a bar area with the intention

of doing one-off events, with guest speakers and footballers, letting kids have their presentation evenings here. But I met with a drinks supplier and the asked why we didn't just open

it as a bar? "I moved to Stirchley because it's got these great places, like Glasshouse and Greidy Street. I've never run a bar before but the idea just developed. Now

we're opening!" Jamie has included some free-to-play features, including arcade games like NBA Jam. "We wanted something that was a bit different," he said.

"We've got arcade machines, table football, a basketball hoop, a dart board and we're even putting in an old TV and VHS player so customers can put an old football video on

and sit with their mates and watch over a beer. "All of it is free play - it's not an arcade. If you're coming for a drink, you can get off your phone and play with your

mates. Everything's themed around that football club vibe." The bar will open on Friday, May 23 at 4pm and will be open from midday on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. The

stretch of Pershore Road between Cotteridge and Stirchley has become known as 'Beer Mile' thanks to the high standards of bars, breweries and venues along it. Jamie hopes that,

with time, the Clubhouse will be part of the highly-revered pub trail. "If we were going to do it, it had to be here," he said. "We don't want to just be serving pints of

Carling, it's going to take time to develop but we want to be part of the Beer Mile. Article continues below "You don't just go to one pub here, you go to different bars,

that's what I do with my mates. "I'm not trying to get people to come and sit here all day, I don't want to steal anyone's business, we just want to be part of the

community." _THE CLUBHOUSE WILL BE AT UNIT 5C, WATERSIDE BUSINESS PARK, 1649 PERSHORE ROAD, B30 3DR._
