Aston villa could revisit transfer route which led them to marcus rashford

It's reportedly highly likely that Alejandro Garnacho has played his last game for Manchester United while Ruben Amorim is in charge at Old Trafford - and Aston Villa have been

identified as a potential destination for the Argentinian playmaker. Garnacho, who is still only 20 years old despite having racked up 144 appearances for United, joined the club in 2020

from Atletico Madrid for a fee in excess of £400,000. He has been a first-team regular for United in each of the last three seasons and has contributed 26 goals. Like his teammate Marcus

Rashford, who joined Villa on loan in the January transfer window, things are supposedly frosty between Garnacho and manager Amorim and the winger is expected to depart this summer transfer

window as part of a wider United squad rebuild which is expected to involve Wolves star Matheus Cunha heading to Manchester. While Rashford is seeking to move to Barcelona, Garnacho is

likely to have options in the Premier League and abroad; it's claimed that any interested club would have to spend £50m on the forward, who has three years remaining on his existing

United contract. Napoli and Arsenal are among those sides who have also been linked. Garnacho and Rashford were both frozen out by Amorim in December, but while Rashford didn't hang

around once the winter window swung around, Garnacho stayed put - despite that, it appears as though he won't be involved come the start of the new season. He was left out of the squad

for the final day visit of Villa on Sunday. “Alejandro Garnacho continues to be a Man United player, not in the squad today but still a Man United player,” Amorim said before the Villa

match. “He will fly with us for post-season tour. We need to be all there, we have to give something back to our fans.” As they did with Rashford, who produced 10 goal contributions during

his months in claret and blue, Villa - who also need to decide on the futures of loanees Axel Disasi and Marco Asensio now their loans have expired - could again tap into the acrimony at Old
