CATHERINE, 53, HAS HAD A LONG CAREER AND WON NUMEROUS AWARDS - BUT WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT HER LIFE AWAY FROM THE CAMERAS? 17:00, 25 Nov 2023 Comedian and actress Catherine Tate is returning
to her role as Donna Noble in Doctor Who tonight after 15 years away. The 53-year-old first appeared in the role in the 2006 Christmas Special, and then returned for the fourth series in
2008. She was much loved by fans and her return, alongside David Tennant as Doctor Who, for the three 60th anniversary specials has got everyone excited. But Catherine has had many other
roles which you may well recognise her from. She won numerous awards for her work on the BBC sketch comedy series The Catherine Tate Show, as well as being nominated for an International
Emmy Award and seven BAFTAs. She also played Joanie Taylor 'Nan' in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan and in the film The Nan Movie. READ MORE When will Ncuti
Gatwa take over from David Tennant as Doctor Who? In 2011, she began a recurring role as Nellie Bertram in the U.S. version of The Office, and was a regular until the series ended. And she
has created and starred in two sitcoms, Netflix's Hard Cell which she also co-directed, and BBC One's Queen of Oz. Catherine has even appeared in films, including Mrs
Ratcliffe's Revolution, Gulliver's Travels, Monte Carlo, and SuperBob. But what do we know about Catherine away from her TV and comedy career? Below we look at her love life,
including her split from BBC star Adrian Chiles, her hidden health condition, real name and co-star husband. CATHERINE TATE'S CO-STAR HUSBAND It was announced that Catherine had become
engaged to American screenwriter Jeff Gutheim in early 2019. He has written scripts for Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, New Line Cinema and WWE Studios, including rewrites of Full of It
and Knucklehead. But it was his latest project this year that saw him working with Catherine on BBC One series Queen of Oz. He wrote the show and Catherine played a disgraced member of a
fictional British Royal Family sent to rule Australia. Jeff has three children from his British-born ex-wife Tracey. CATHERINE TATE'S SPLIT FROM ADRIAN CHILES AND LINK TO TAKE THAT STAR
In 2011 it was reported Take That singer Jason Orange and Catherine were growing close after teaming up together for a Comic Relief sketch about spoof band Fake That alongside James Corden,
Alan Carr, John Bishop and David Walliams. They were later pictured together as they went to support former Britain's Got Talent judge David at his charity swim along the River Thames.
But it was reported that their romance had ended in 2012. A source told The People: "Jason is a very private person and after it came out that he and Catherine were getting closer
together it did affect their relationship. There was a lot of pressure on them and it caused them to go their separate ways for a bit but they are still very good friends." Catherine
then went on to date The One Show presenter Adrian Chiles after they met on his programme That Sunday Night Show in 2011. They were then seen kissing as they enjoyed trip to America together
in 2012. Catherine, who has a daughter from her relationship with stage manager Twig Clark, later confirmed their romance and was pictured on the former Match of The Day 2 presenter's
motorbike. But they ended their romance in 2013. At the time, sources close to the couple said that 'work commitments' were behind the break-up. CATHERINE TATE'S HIDDEN HEALTH
CONDITION When she was a child, Catherine suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She previously explained: “I couldn’t have a jumper on the floor when I went to bed because my
mum’s name is Josephine – it begins with J, so that was my mum lying on the floor." Catherine has also spoken about suffering from occasional panic attacks. She also suffered from
post-natal depression following the arrival of her daughter Erin by emergency surgery in 2003 and quickly returning to work on The Catherine Tate Show. She told the Mirror: "I was so
raw for the first year, it was irrational. I was putting together the first series six months after giving birth and I couldn't think about it. I went on autopilot and waded through my
life. "What drove me bananas was trying to hide it from people. So the solution was - OK, I'll go write a comedy show." She added: "I hadn't got help for the
depression during the first series - I just put it on hold. It wasn't until the end of series two that I sorted it out." Catherine sank deeper into depression and her condition
worsened when she was unable to breastfeed properly after the caesarean. She explained: "It was a 'baby friendly hospital' so they refused you formula milk except in
emergencies." Article continues below CATHERINE TATE'S REAL NAME Catherine's real last name is Ford but she changed her name when she got her Equity card as an actress. She
previously revealed she had chosen her new surname after the character of Jessica Tate, played by Katherine Helmond, from the American sitcom television series Soap. Her mother, Josephine,
was a florist. Catherine has said that the character of Margaret in The Catherine Tate Show, who shrieks at the slightest of disturbances, is based largely on her mother. Catherine never
knew her father as he left very early on in her life.
