THE MONEY SAVING EXPERT ISSUED THE WARNING TO THOSE WHO "HAVE OR HAVE HAD A PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION" 08:57, 22 May 2025 Martin Lewis has urged holidaymakers over the

age of 65 to declare their health condition when finding the best deals on travel insurance. Specifically, for those that "have or have had a physical or mental health condition,"

as it could save them hundreds in pounds. He went on to share an example of a traveller than followed his advice and saved £258. READ MORE: MARTIN LEWIS URGES MOBILE PHONE OWNERS TO LOOK OUT

FOR TEXT WHICH COULD MEAN BILL CUT Martin explained: “If you currently have or have had a physical or mental health condition, you will usually need to declare it to the travel insurer.

"In some cases, it changes nothing, in others, it may hugely increase costs, or the provider may simply refuse to cover you (either entirely or for the specific condition).” As an

example of some of the potential savings travellers could make, the finance guru then shared Donald's story, a holidaymaker that saved £258. Martin shared: "Donald, who emailed us

earlier this year: 'Thank you Martin. Just saved £258 on travel insurance for a pre-existing medical issue. "Went from £595 to £337. Keep up the great advice'." The

52-year-old money expert then cited another example, Jackie, adding: "Jackie, whose dad is 90, emailed us in March: 'My dad was quoted around £600 for European single-trip cover

and almost £1,000 for annual multi-trip. "After contacting loads of companies, he phoned his bank, Nationwide, who said if he upgraded his account to the packaged account (£216 a year),

they would cover him on an annual multi-trip basis for £100 extra'." Martin explained that the annual insurance prices range from £39 a year for anyone aged 66, and from £123 a

year for those aged 76. In order to find the best deal, he suggested calling different banks and building societies to compare prices. Some of the best deals Martin found were: * Co-op Bank

offers £15/mth (£18/mth from July), and currently it pays switchers a free £175 * Virgin Money has £12.50/mth, and the maximum travel insurance age is 74 * Nationwide offers £18/mth and has

no age limit for the maximum travel insurance * Halifax offers £19/mth with a maximum travel insurance age of 70 Article continues below Prices will vary depending on the circumstances of

the individual calling.
