THE MONEY SAVING EXPERT (MSE) TEAM HAS PICKED MADE THEIR TOP-PICK FOR PREPAID CARDS FOR UNDER-18S 12:10, 03 Jun 2025 Martin Lewis' MSE team has warned debit card users about a new fee

from Hyperjar. This prepaid debit card has introduced a new £3 a month fee for inactivity when you don't use your account for 12-months. However, the MSE has still listed the card as a

"top-pick" for prepaid cards for under-18s. READ MORE: NETFLIX BLOCKED ON CERTAIN FIRE TV STICKS FROM TUESDAY MSE said: “HyperJar is our top-pick prepaid card for under-18s as it

doesn't have a monthly account fee and offers a good combination of features to help manage children's spending. “If you haven't used your HyperJar account in a while but want

to keep it, you can avoid the fee by doing any of the following.” Article continues below To avoid the fee, simply spend money or receive money from another bank or Hyperjar account.

Additionally, you can move money within your HyperJar account from one 'jar' to another, also avoiding the monthly fee. You can also buy something using your HyperJar card, or buy

a "Cashback Voucher" or "HyperVoucher" through the HyperJar app. Yet, simply closing the account for those that don't use it is the simplest option to avoid the

additional charges. It comes as Martin Lewis has shared a pension 'loophole' that could 'double your money'. During his return to The Martin Lewis Money Show Live for its

Summer Special, the 52-year-old turned his attention to the workplace pensions system. Specifically, he spoke on how your pension contributions aren’t taxed at the point of contribution.

Martin explained: “The most important thing to remember is the money you put into your pension is from pre-tax salary. So this is the superpower. You get tax relief. "So as a basic 20%

rate taxpayer, you’re putting £100 in, but of course when you get it in your pay packet 20% is being taken off. So to put £100 in only costs you £80. So you’re getting £100 investment for

the cost of £80.” Article continues below Join our dedicated BirminghamLive WhatsApp community for the latest updates sent straight to your phone as they happen. You can also sign up to our
