UK HOUSEHOLDS COULD BE CLOBBERED WITH AN EYE-WATERING AND JAW-DROPPING £5K WARNING, WITH NOISE REGULATIONS RESTRICTING UK HOUSEHOLDS IN DOMESTIC SETTINGS. 06:26, 21 May 2025 UK households
face a £5,000 fine for a 11pm to 7am rule at their OWN home. UK households could be clobbered with an eye-watering and jaw-dropping £5k warning, with noise regulations restricting UK
households in domestic settings. 48 per cent are "oblivious" domestic noise regulations which forbid any excessive noise. According to UK law, noise levels must be kept at a
minimum from 11pm to 7am, and it includes music, DIY, vehicle noises and machinery. Machinery could mean anything from lawnmowers - to even washing machines and loud white goods. The
restrictions could also extend to dogs barking - and even parties. READ MORE NEW UK PRIMARY SCHOOL DINNER RULES WITH SOME STAPLES BEING 'BANNED' There are regulations that limit
construction works to prevent excess noise disruption between 8am - 6pm from Monday to Friday, 8am - 1pm on Saturdays, and no work on Sundays. Article continues below if, after a complaint,
the council are satisfied that a statutory nuisance exists, or is likely to occur or recur, the Council will serve an abatement notice. The notice will usually be served on the person
responsible, but can also be served on the owner or occupier of the premises. This may require the person or company to stop the activity or limit it to certain times and/or specific actions
to reduce the problem, such as improvement works to be carried out in a specified time. A person served with an abatement notice may appeal against the notice to a magistrates’ court within
twenty-one days of the notice being served. With noise nuisances from premises, the notice can be delayed for up to 7 days while the Council tries to get the person responsible to stop or
restrict the noise. Article continues below Non-compliance with these rules could result in an abatement notice being issued. If this is ignored, it can lead to prosecution in court and a
fine of up to £5,000. One local authority in England warns: "Causing a statutory nuisance is not an offence in itself, but not complying with an abatement notice, without reasonable
excuse, is a criminal offence."
