Major update on prison officer stabbed by inmate after 'disagreement escalated'

which a knife was brandished. A 22-year-old man is currently in custody within the prison. Meanwhile, a ccording to the Sun Online, the weapon was said to have been dropped into the prison

by drone. Assistant Chief Constable Grant Wills said: “Whilst our investigation is in its early stages, we would like to clarify that this incident is not being treated as terrorism.

"Our initial enquiries suggest there was a disagreement between an inmate and prison officer that escalated and is an isolated matter within the prison. “The injured prison officer

currently remains in hospital in a stable condition, and we are sending him our best wishes for a full and quick recovery. "We can confirm that the weapon used was a knife. "A

22-year-old man remains in custody within the prison at this time." MP Nigel Huddleston said: "I am deeply shocked and appalled by the violent incident at HMP Long Lartin in my

constituency, where a prison officer was seriously injured. "This is a deeply concerning situation in one of the country’s highest-security facilities. "I have recently met with

with the injured officer and their family, as well as with their colleagues at Long Lartin, who carry out their duties with professionalism and dedication. "It is vital that everything
