Coldfield on Saturday, May 17, led to some sessions being cancelled and part of the centre closed, including the public viewing gallery. The blue ducting could be seen hanging from the

on Saturday and they had closed the viewing gallery. “Big blue ducting had come loose. They cancelled some lessons but it was then deemed safe to restart them at around 10am. Article

lanes within the main pool have decided to take an unplanned vacation! “Sadly this means we are having to partially close the main pool over the weekend. “But don't put your goggles

away just yet, the small pool and part of the main pool will be open for all your splashy fun this weekend. “The changing rooms are still open as normal but we are asking all swimmers to

enter the pool area by the family change. “If you have a swimming lesson or party booking over the weekend that will be impacted, our team will be in contact with you directly.” The deep

PARK SUBMITTED But the problems were rectified on Monday night and the swimming pool fully reopened. Mark Reynolds, contract manager for Birmingham Community Leisure Trust, which runs the

site and eight others for Birmingham City Council, said: “On Saturday, May 17, during routine inspections of the facility, we identified some ducting had become loose in the air handling

unit in our main swimming pool area. “In the interests of customer and employee safety, this led to some parts of the centre having to be closed or have reduced access over the past few

days, while we wait for the ducting to be repaired. Article continues below “Our contractor informed us the repair would be completed on Monday evening and the main pool reopened on Tuesday.

“We apologise to everyone affected by these temporary closures, but hope you will understand that when it comes to safety, we will not cut corners.”
