MANY PEOPLE RELY ON THE POST OFFICE FOR EVERYDAY BANKING TASKS LIKE WITHDRAWING CASH AND MAKING DEPOSITS. 07:41, 03 Jun 2025 Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers will no longer be
able to deposit cheques at the Post Office using pay-in slips. Many people rely on the Post Office for everyday banking tasks like withdrawing cash and making deposits. Previously, customers
of Lloyds Banking Group could also pay in cheques there using a personalised paying-in slip and a deposit envelope. However, this service has now been discontinued. Lloyds Banking Group
stated the decision was made due to low usage, as only a small number of customers deposited cheques at the Post Office. A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: "Most customers use
our app as the easiest way to pay in a cheque, by taking a photo on their phone and letting us take care of the rest." READ MORE UK FACES 'SPANISH SCORCHER' HEATWAVE WITH 31C
AS EXACT DATE IT STARTS ANNOUNCED Consumer rights campaigner Martyn James argues that the ability to deposit cheques remains a "vital lifeline" for some bank customers. Article
continues below He warned: "With millions of cheques still issued each year, and older people relying on them far more than other age groups, this group stands to lose the most from
these changes." Lloyds customers can still use a range of services at the Post Office, including depositing cash with or without a debit card. The Lloyds Bank website - which operates
all three brands, including Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland - states: "You can pay in up to £2,995 a month and up to £20,000 a year. If you have a joint account, you can both pay
in up to £2,995 a month and £20,000 per year." Article continues below Customers can also withdraw up to £300 daily from their current account at the Post Office, provided they have
their debit card and PIN. You can also check your balance at the Post Office, but customers will also need their debit card and PIN to access this service.
