Five new driving rules and changes coming in june from parking to fuel

laws for motorists coming in June 2025 have been revealed - from parking to driving licences. The Labour Party government has confirmed that the changes to driving licence regulations for

zero emission vehicles will come into effect from 10 June 2025. The change will allow category B driving licence to drive an electric or hydrogen-powered vehicle with a maximum authorised

mass (MAM) of up to 4.25 tonne, to account for the additional weight of their batteries, providing the vehicle is zero emission vehicle. This will remove the need for category B licence

holders to undertake five hours additional training before operating 4.25 tonne electric vans and allows the same towing capabilities as internal combustion engine (ICE) equivalents. READ

petrol or diesel cars for these purposes. The old rates may be used until 30 June 2025. PARKING Ed Miliband has called for a massive expansion of solar power through the “untapped potential”

of Britain’s car parks. In a consultation, the Energy Secretary is seeking views on how to spur the construction of solar panel canopies above parking spaces at supermarkets, offices and

shopping villages. The idea is viewed as a win-win because it would make better use of sprawling car parks while also generating more green electricity, potentially lowering bills for

businesses. Motorists would also benefit from more shaded parking spots and potentially a larger number of electric car charging stations, which could be powered directly by the panels, the

Government said. ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING More drivers will be able to save up to £1,100 a year as the government cuts red tape to make it easier than ever to install electric vehicle

chargepoints. Future of Roads Minister, Lilian Greenwood, has confirmed that from today (29 May 2025), more drivers and businesses will no longer need to submit a planning application to

install public or private EV sockets. By cutting down on paperwork, more EV owners with a driveway will find it easier, quicker and cheaper to install a private chargepoint and power up
