THOUSANDS OF MOTORISTS ARE BEING CAUGHT OUT BY THE SAME ISSUE WHILE TAKING THEIR DRIVING TESTS, ACCORDING TO DATA FROM THE DVSA. 12:35, 31 May 2025 The DVSA has warned over the one error
that causes the most people to fail their driving test. Thousands of motorists are being caught out by the same issue while taking their driving tests, according to data from the DVSA.
According to the DVSA, ‘observations at junctions’ are the biggest culprit, with 768,881 drivers failing their test on this simple issue over the past five years. This means the common
problem accounts for 11.81% of total failures. Joe Parry, spokesperson at EZ Licence, said: “Checking mirrors regularly, maintaining a healthy speed, and proper control of the vehicle are

embed these healthy habits into their learners, making safe driving more seamless and helping to avoid minor or major faults. Article continues below “Overall, drivers can still pass their
test with up to 15 minor mistakes, so if you make an error, try not to let it distract you from the rest of the test. Through regular practice and maintaining safe driving habits, learner
drivers can pass their test with minimal faults.” There are 3 types of faults you can make: a dangerous fault - this involves actual danger to you, the examiner, the public or property, a
serious fault - something potentially dangerous or a driving fault - this is not potentially dangerous, but if you keep making the same fault, it could become a serious fault. You’ll pass
your driving test if you make no more than 15 driving faults (sometimes called ‘minors’) or no serious or dangerous faults (sometimes called ‘majors’). Article continues below The examiner
will tell you what faults you made, if any, give you a pass certificate and ask you if you want your full licence to be sent to you automatically - give the examiner your provisional licence
if you want to do this. Apply for your full driving licence within 2 years of passing your test if you do not want to get your licence automatically.
