Georgia voters 50 and older are the most committed age group for voting in the 2024 election and appear to be on track to be deciders in the upcoming federal and state elections, according

to new AARP research. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are tied in the head-to-head ballot among Georgia voters. With key races in Georgia showing close numbers, candidates have an opportunity

to win the support of these voters over the coming months by addressing their top issues. While immigration and rising prices are top issues for voters in Georgia, over 70% of voters

50-plus say Social Security, Medicare, policies that help people remain in their homes as they age, and costs of utilities, housing, and prescription drugs are all extremely or very

important issues they will consider when deciding how to vote. Moreover, Georgia voters 50-plus say they would be more likely to vote for candidates who commit to protecting Social Security

and supporting family caregivers. METHODOLOGY AARP commissioned the bipartisan polling team of Fabrizio Ward (R) & Impact Research (D) to conduct a survey of voters in Georgia. The firms

interviewed 1,254 likely voters, which includes a statewide representative sample of 600 likely voters, an oversample of 494 likely voters 50 and older, and an additional oversample of 160

Black likely voters 50 and older. The survey was conducted July 24–31, 2024 via live interviewer on landline (25%) and cellphone (35%), as well as SMS to web (40%). The sample was randomly
