Policy Institute, where she focuses on consumer protections for older adults pertaining to financial products, the risks of consumer debt, and financial security more broadly. Her work has

explored the impact that benefits such as paid leave have on workers and the risks associated with financial products like medical credit cards, among other topics. Before joining AARP,

Brown worked as a government relations intern at Brownstein Farber Schreck Hyatt while completing her master’s degree in public policy at Georgetown University. She also worked as a

legislative intern for Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), where she contributed to his legislative agenda on financial security issues. Previously, Brown worked as a research assistant at the

International Economic Development Council, providing technical assistance and managing federal economic development grant projects. She worked closely with regulators at the U.S. Economic

Development Agency, and various large economic development organizations. In addition, while in her graduate program, Brown led a research project in partnership with the U.S. Department of

Labor to evaluate various state paid leave program proposals and assess their financial feasibility. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s
