More than 100,000 bottles of Heritage Store Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash sold at Whole Foods, Mom’s Organic Market and Amazon, among other retailers, have been recalled due to concerns that
it may pose a poison risk to young children, according to a warning from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall involves wintermint- and eucalyptus mint–flavored mouthwash manufactured by Nutraceutical Corp., of Salt Lake City, and sold from October 2010 through December 2023. The
mouthwash contains concentrations of ethanol that require it to come in childproof packaging, which it does not have, according to the agency. There have been no reports of injury
associated with the product.
The mouthwash was sold in dark brown bottles with a pink-and-white label on front that displays the Heritage Store logo. Consumers should store the recalled mouthwash in a safe location out
of reach and sight of children.
Contact Nutraceutical toll-free at 800-227-6063, by email at [email protected], or online at https://heritagestore.com/pages/recall, www.betterbeing.com/recall or www.Nutraceutical.com.
Click on “Product Recall” at the bottom right of the web pages for more information.
The manufacturer says it will provide a full refund or free replacement product, including shipping, depending on availability. Consumers will be asked to dispose of the product.
Nutraceutical is contacting all known purchasers directly.
The recalled mouthwash was sold nationwide at stores including Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Mom’s Organic Market, New Seasons Market and Mother’s Market & Kitchen, as well as
online at Amazon, iHerb, HeritageStore.com and other websites.
